This is one of the hardest posts I have probably ever written on all our blogs. Crystal our studio manager will be leaving her normal duties for the fabulous gift of motherhood. Although we are so happy for her and hope that she will eventually still be able to be a part of the team in other smaller ways, it’s time to start the difficult task of trying to fill her shoes. Crystal thank you so much for lending us your talents to make our wonderful studio what it is today. Aside from your incredible photography talent, more than anything I am going to miss your dedication and fabulous work ethic. You were never afraid to get your hands dirty, and you never complained ever. I love your spirit and your attitude. You are a fab example of a team mate. Our days just won’t be the same without you and I hope we still see a lot of you.

With this change we are also looking to do a little bit of restructuring. The position that we will be looking to fill now is the studio concierge position as a trial that may last for a few months. If all goes well the new concierge we will be given more responsibility and a higher title. We ask that you email us your resume and tell us exactly why you are interested in this position and why you believe you would be a great candidate. Boudoir is the new black!

Well, we’ve said it before and now we will say it again! Boudoir photography is the new black! ;) If the celebs are doing it then let the trend get even hotter. We are loving these Pin-Up pictures of Kate Hudson, Susan Sarandon, one of the Olsens (do you know which one that is below?) and Kate Walsh. Thank you to INSTYLE Magazine for letting us know about Timothy White’s fab book, “Hollywood Pinups.” Looks like we are going to have to hit Barne’s and Noble for a copy for our boudoir boutique/waiting room. While girls wait for us to process their photos these images can add even more anticipation to their “about to pee, I’m so excited, emotional” wait in our boutique.

Remember ladies, if you want to do a set that is Pin-Up, it’s all about the styling. Getting a Pin-Up style photo shoot starts with Pin-Up styled outfit
and then our make-up artist. Then bam, your hotter than even Dita Von Teese herself!

We recently learned of San Diego Wedding Insider, another Fab online resource for Brides & Grooms (specifically in San Diego)! We saw their blog post about this popular San Diego Summer Wedding color scheme, and HAD to share! We’ve been loving the Hot Pink & Black combo for some time, and it is so fun to see it pop up in weddings! Plus the little collage they put together is cute eye candy for our blog!

When I started planning my wedding about 3 years ago, the first website I visited was www.theknot.com. I found myself on the website late at night searching for all things wedding-related. Throughout the months of planning, I browsed through gallery after gallery of wedding hair styles, shoes, and more. The Knot has a stellar reputation among Brides-to-be, and girls are more than happy to tell their friends about it. That’s how I heard about The Knot. We just wanted to share some love with The Knot today :). If by some chance any of you soon-to-be-Mrs. haven’t checked out their website, we encourage you to!

Hello to our past clients! We miss you all! So we are putting together a section of our website to empower women to go ahead and book their shoot, to get them to push away any insecurities they may have. We would love to hear from past clients specifically what was the most fun part about your shoot. It can be some details during , or maybe receiving the Bombshell Book, or maybe even the way you fell during and after the shoot in general. The Boudoir Diva’s trip to Nashville and Vegas

We had a lot of fun at Imaging USA in Nashville, and we can’t WAIT for next year (2011 Imaging USA in ANTONIO TX!!!) For those of you who don’t know we get asked to speak to other photographers and teach about boudoir photography. We also have written books and host boudoir workshops. If you want more info about that please visit our site for photographers. We never had a chance to blog the random photos from our time in Nashville, so here are a few of them:

Then only a month after Imaging USA in Nashville, we headed over to WPPI in Vegas and held a boudoir workshop and had ANOTHER tradeshow booth. Check out this video to see some fun clips from that. I love when Deena talks about “the men.” Ha ha.

Every little bit counts! So around here we want to make sure that we are doing our part to try to make this a better place. Michael Jackson taught us that “we are the world, we are the children,” right? So every shoot we do earns $5 toward the World Vision Girls in Crisis fund. We are pretty close to our goal and once we reach it we will probably be finding another great outreach to give to. Thank you to all the girls who booked shoots and made this goal accomplishment possible!!! Cheers to you!
